Is It OK to Regift? Let’s Discuss

Is it OK to Regift?
Yes
No
It depends (add comment below)

Regifting is a topic that sparks a lot of debate. Some people see it as a practical way to pass along an item they don't need, while others feel it's impersonal or even rude. So, where do you stand on this?

Here are a few questions to kick off the discussion:

  • When is it acceptable to regift? (e.g., when the item is brand-new, unused, or fits the recipient better)
  • Are there situations where regifting is a big no-no? (e.g., personalized or sentimental items)
  • Have you ever regifted something? If yes, how was it received?
  • What tips do you have for regifting without offending anyone?

Some people believe regifting is a great way to reduce waste and save money, especially if the gift perfectly suits someone else. On the flip side, others argue that a gift should be thoughtfully chosen with the recipient in mind.

We’d love to hear your thoughts and stories about regifting! Whether you're a firm believer or a skeptic, share your perspective and let's discuss!

In my personal opinion - it depends! 🙂

Of course it depends who the gift is from, what value it has to me, and also what, in my view, would the "gifter" think if they knew I regifted their gift.

But at the same time, if you do not use something which was gifted, why not give it to someone who could use it?
